hot rubberized crack Sealing
Cracks in the asphalt can only mean one thing, an easy entrance for water. When water gets in the asphalt cracks it seeps down and destroys the base. When this happens the life of the asphalt is compromised. Hot rubberized crack sealing prevents any water from getting underneath by sealing cracks up to an inch and a half wide. The material used to seal these cracks has a high elasticity rating which allows it to expand and contract with the asphalt. When we do this process we use the machine below. There are many ways to crack seal such as the pour pot method or a machine which uses a heated wand and tank to heat the material to 400 degrees then is distributed out of the tank through the wand and into the crack in a clean fashion leaving a nice even band over the crack. Before we seal any cracks we go through to clean and remove any vegetation from the crack so the material has a clean surface to bond to. If you are not sure what your asphalt needs give DKM a call for a free estimate and explanation of the work that needs to be done.
